Amazon brings Prime membership service to Colombia
Colombian Amazon shoppers have a new option to receive free delivery and other perks.
Starting Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Amazon Prime paid subscription service is available in Colombia with a dedicated local membership for $6 a month or $40 annually (a 45% saving compared to the monthly plan).
Prime membership includes free delivery from the U.S. to Colombia on eligible orders of tens of millions of items across 35 categories from Amazon with zero minimum spend. If a product doesn’t arrive or isn’t as advertised, customers can contact our 24/7 customer support team for a full refund of their order.
Membership also provides access to Prime Video, participation in exclusive Prime member deals and shopping events like Prime Day (which is taking place for the first time in Colombia in July), and a free Twitch subscription and free games with Prime Gaming.
Customers in Colombia who already subscribe to Prime Video will now have access to the full Prime membership the same cost. Qualifying customers can sign up for a free 30-day trail.
"We are thrilled to introduce Amazon Prime to Colombia, bringing our world-class shopping and entertainment benefits to Colombian customers,” said Jamil Ghani, worldwide VP, Amazon Prime. “With Prime, members will enjoy convenient, free and fast delivery on millions of products, access to award-winning movies, TV shows through Prime Video, exclusive deals, and Prime Gaming.”
Amazon has offered free international shipping to Colombia since 2019. Prime Video launched there in 2020 and in 2024, more than 1,000 Colombian sellers exported their products via the Amazon site.
In addition, Amazon opened a customer service center in Bogota, Colombia in 2018, including a virtual customer service center which offers remote roles across the country. In 2023, Amazon Web Services (AWS) opened a new data center in Bogota.
And in 2024, Colombia was added to the AWS marketplace, allowing Colombian sellers and partners to reach global customers with software and technology products. Amazon now has more than 2,500 employees in Colombia.
"We are excited to expand our Prime offering in Colombia, building on the success we have already seen with Prime Video in the country," said María Isabel Figueroa, head of Prime Video in Colombia. "Colombian audiences have enthusiastically embraced local original productions and now Prime members can enjoy these beloved shows along with comprehensive shopping and entertainment benefits at no additional cost. This launch represents our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality entertainment and exceptional value to Colombian customers."
In other international moves, Amazon opened a dedicated storefront in Ireland in March 2025, including a dedicated Irish Amazon Prime membership program. The online giant launched Amazon.co.za, its South African digital storefront, in 2024.
