A luxury French fashion house is relocating its Houston boutique from one luxury shopping center to another.

Balmain is moving from a short distance across the highway from the Fertitta Entertainment-owned River Oaks District to Simon Property Group's The Galleria this summer. Exclusive to the Houston area, this new boutique at The Galleria will feature approximately 2,100 sq. ft. of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear elements within its new in-store concept that will feature a “serene color palette and delicate features.”

Balmain first opened its Houston flagship in August 2023.

"For decades, The Galleria has remained Houston’s premier choice for high-end fashion,” said Velda Turan, senior VP of luxury leasing at Simon. “Given their bold, distinctive designs and meticulous craftsmanship, the logical home for Balmain is within the exclusive luxury collection at The Galleria. We are very pleased to welcome Balmain to The Galleria and to support their continued success.”

Balmain, which was founded in 1945, is joining more than 50 of the world’s most sought-after fashion brands in calling The Galleria home, including Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Rolex, and more. In the past five years, several of The Galleria’s key luxury brands have expanded and enhanced their Galleria boutiques including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, and Saint Laurent, each of which doubled their footprints.

“Our decision to relocate our flagship Houston boutique to The Galleria naturally follows the steps of a new chapter for Balmain, enhancing the in-store experience while staying true to the brand’s unique attitude,” said Emily George, president of The Americas at Balmain. “Each of our locations reflects this, offering a bespoke, couture-inspired environment that connects with our clients on a deeper level. We've noticed a strong demand locally for an expanded and more immersive Balmain offering. The Galleria, with its dynamic mix of the world’s most innovative and prestigious brands, is the perfect location for us. As Houston's premier luxury shopping destination, it reflects the full universe of Balmain and reinforces our commitment to providing an exceptional retail experience.”
